FAQ's Sorrento

How do you get to Sorrento?

To get to Sorrento you would fly into Rome or Naples.

From Rome Airport, Fiumicino:

Take the a cab or the Leonardo Express Train to Rome's Termini Train Station and take a Trenitalia train to Naples (Napoli Centrale Station). Tickets can be pre-purchased on http://www.trenitalia.com/. Keep in mind when using the Trenitalia website to purchase train tickets, you need to use the Italian names of the cities, Roma (Rome), Napoli (Naples).

Once at the Naples train station,  go downstairs to the local trains to catch a Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento. These tickets cannot be pre-purchased, however trains run often.

From Naples International Airport:

Take the airport shuttle bus or taxi to Napoli Centrale Station.

Once at the Naples train station,  go downstairs to the local trains to catch a Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento. These tickets cannot be pre-purchased, however trains run often.

Will we travel together?

Since many people prefer to go early or stay longer since we are traveling overseas, it is better for everyone to book their own airfare. We will create a Facebook group for the retreat participants and have a meet and greet about 4 months before the retreat so people can find a travel buddy if they do not have one.

Passport

You must have a valid US passport to travel to Europe. The expiration date must be at least 6 months after your return flight to the US.

What kind of yoga will we do?

Yoga serves as a way to open you up physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually to the experiences we will have throughout our week together. Since we will have varying levels of yoga experience, morning practice will be a Mixed Level class designed to awaken and energize us for our day. Since we will be active most days, evening yoga will be on the gentler side.

Optional Activities

We have planned several activities and excursions to enhance the yoga retreat experience. If you wish to do more, you are welcome to research and book any additional activities and excursions at your own expense. We will have two days where we go to the Sorrento city center where you can shop and site see or catch a train to Pompeii or Mount Vesuvius. You can also catch the ferry back to Capri or to another island. If you would like to visit Pompeii, it is recommended you buy tickets ahead of time to avoid long lines. A popular site for pre-booking tickets is viator.com.
